Lets take a look back into time and think for ourselves!

If we think back on hunger gatherer humans, food wasn't always available so we would have to make due with what we had; meaning our bodies were condition and designed to survive off moderate amount of food!  Today, doctors tell us to eat three meals a day and to snack in between, meaning our bodies are constantly in a state of digest and breaking food down! A simple way to notice how your energy is diverted int he body is to notice how sleepy we start to feel after eating a large meal! Our body is diverting energy from our brain to our stomach to digest the food and break it down, hence why we want to go to sleep after that thanksgiving dinner!

Our bodies function at their best on an empty stomach! So it is important to eat consciously! See how certain foods impact your body differently! Avoid processed, genetically modified, preservative and additive containing foods. Try to incorporate at least 50 percent of raw fruits and vegetables in your diet, this will significantly affect your overall energy and health! The idea behind eating raw is quite simple, "we are what we eat". Do you want to feel alive or dead? Eat foods that haven't been damaged by heat, eat foods which cells are still alive! When we cook food we destroy many enzymes needs for digestion, and our body tries to make up for these and in turn a lot of the food we eat goes to waste.

Naturally when we look at a piece or plate of food we should immediately know whether it is good or bad for us! If we put some food in front of our dog, one sniff and he knows if he wants it or not. Similarly, we have the same ability to differentiate between what's good for the system and what isn't, but we have been too conditioned into believing what we should eat instead of listening to ourselves. If i put a piece of raw meat in front of you and a plate of fruit, you will naturally gravitate towards the fruit. We can only eat the meat once we have tricked our sense by cooking it and seasoning it. I always say, if you cant kill it don't eat it. It takes fruit only a couple of hours to process through the system while it takes some odd 48 hours for meat to pass through the system and similarly with any cooked food -- raw food passes through the system the quickest.

What's the best fuel for our bodies?

Remember that old saying, "we are what we eat". This old saying hold more true than we think! Everyday when we ingest food our bodies divert energy to our stomachs to digest the food and turn it into us. This means that our bodies have the incredible ability to transform an apple into a human being, and we do this on a daily basis. It is important for us to find what the human organism finds most efficient and beneficial to ingest and breakdown! Every animal on the planet knows what to eat and how much to eat! It is up to us to turn inwards and listen to our bodies and not what others are telling us in regards to what we should be eating! From knowing when it is enough, to what our bodies are craving can vary from day to day; only eat when you are hungry and only eat as much as you need -- do not overeat!

If we look at today's diet throughout the world we will find that it is carbohydrate and sugar heavy. Much of this is due to the commercial and capital aspect of life, because these types of foods only satisfy hunger for short amounts of time leaving us once again hungry. When you eat please look at the time it takes to digest the food you just ate. It if takes longer then two to three ours to leave your stomach bag then you have eaten food that your body is having trouble digesting! The idea is quite simple, eat foods that are simple so your body has an easier and more efficient time breaking it down to become a part of your system. Foods that pass through the system quickly and efficiently include fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and simple plant life.

On a day when you haven't eaten much experiment, eat one type of food and see how long it takes for your body to digest it; also notice how your body feels after eating this food! If you feel agile and full of energy then you have eaten food that your body likes and benefits from. A lot of the time after eating we start to feel lethargic and quite sluggish! Aren't we eating for energy and growth and not for the opposite? This is because of the type of foods we ingest and the quantity.

Many of the foods that we we consume currently, and that store-bought or manufactured are more so acidic in nature; meaning that they are below pH 7. Our bodies mostly require that we are alkaline just as nature intended, besides for a few organs which need to be acidic such as the skin, stomach, bladder and vaginal fluid in order to protect us from foreign invaders. The rest of our body must remain in a alkaline state in order to maintain optimal health. No disease or cancer can exist in an alkaline environment. Luckily we are able to easily combat this by avoiding certain foods and choosing to eat vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Here is a list comprising of some highly acidic and alkaline foods.

Fast food vs Fasting

We live in very fast paced world today, where at time we wont be able to cook or prepare food for ourselves and then we resort to fast food chains like McDonalds to satisfy our needs for hunger. Fast food chains like this rely on us to keep their companies sustainable and growing. Their food is designed to keep us hooked -- high sugar, sodium, and carbohydrate content which keeps us coming back for more keeping us stuck in a loop.

Sugar is today's number one killer, which can be found in just about anything from ketchup to cereal and in just about everything you think it ins't it. This is because companies know its addictive and destructive nature. Some even go as far to compare sugar to cocaine as it give you a sugar rush of energy and doesn't keep you there for very long only to have you coming back and craving more rather quickly - not to mention all of the negative attributes that come with consuming processed sugars.

It is up to us to realize and recognize the nature of the world we live in today in relation to food and what it is doing to us, we are what we eat. Our bodies cells constantly are being replaced with knew ones in various cycles. Saying that, we are literally what we eat. Now it is up to us to decide what we want to be made of, alive food such as fruits and vegetables to keep us ALIVE or dead -- do you want to live or be dead?

Fast food goes hand in hand with today's recommendation of eating 3 meals a day and snacking in between, meaning you are constantly consuming these food containing sugars keeping us constantly craving more and more. If you think deeply and cryptically you see how everything ties in together. Ultimately the more we consume the more we are stressing our bodies on different levels -- firstly over consumption overwhelms our bodies digestive system which needs rest (fasting). Secondly, damages our bodies on a cellular level due to all of the chemicals, preservatives and additives. And lastly, it is conditioning us in being dependent on this type of lifestyle. This type of life leads to disease and ultimately or reliance on pharmaceutical companies which feed of this system, high blood pressure, diabetes and obese all related from the food we ingest. Please be vigilant! But don't worry as there is hope for all of us as long as we are WILLING.

Our bodies have an amazing ability to not only adapt and change but to heal ourselves on the cellular level through a process science has recognized as beneficial for the human body. The simple act of fasting! Who would have thought, just abstaining from food consumption would heal us so much on so many levels? Yes. This was known for many centuries through difference cultures and has been always put into practice, from Hinduism to Islamic practices of fasting. We are giving our bodies a chance to rest the digestive tract and allowing the energy we use for digesting food to heal our cells and bodies, resulting in a variety of health benefits. Not only will you shed a few pounds and lean up but your skin will be clearer, mind will be sharper, and energy levels will be increased just to name a few.

How to fast and where to start? There are a few method ranging from dry fasting to water fasting and intermittent fasting. Every method has its pros and cons but it is up to you ultimately to experiment and see what your body works with the best. The most common method of fasting is the 16:8 intermittent method. This means that we are abstaining from food for 16 hours and are consuming in the 8 hour window only. Other ratios could be 18:6, 20:4, and some even go as far as eating only one meal a day where they was for 23 and only eat 1 for hour 23:1.
